DYNAMIC WHEELS AT RICHARD’S TYREPOWER PERTH
Officially, the Dynamic Alloy Wheels Australia story begins in 1989 when diesel technician and businessman Chris Hummer founded an automotive repair business. However, the story really takes shape a few years later through Hummer's love for building four-wheel drives to compete in adventure racing.
After competing in many races throughout South East Asia, Hummer accepted the job of turning the Simex International Rainforest Challenge Malaysia into a world-class off-roading event.

This work led him to collaborate with tyre companies in designing new tread patterns that would work in the ultra-demanding conditions of an adventure race through Malaysia’s dense jungle terrain. That tyre became the legendary Simex Extreme Trekker.
Coming back to Australia to distribute this new tyre, Hummer found the range of wheels available to (and suitable for) Australia’s surging aftermarket 4WD industry was lacking.
Unable to easily source the wheel sizes, offsets, colours and designs he knew the market wanted, Hummer developed his own range of 4WD wheels for the Australian market. In 1998, Dynamic Wheels finally found local a manufacturing base that could not only make wheels that were tough enough but could also make them in the wide range of sizes and designs that the local market wanted.
The company’s approach of quickly responding to unmet demand in the aftermarket is also reflected in their development of wheels specifically for drifting – a sport that was practically unheard of before 1998.
It’s fair to say Dynamic Alloy Wheels Australia is always busy identifying, prototyping and incorporating new design features into their products. It’s all part of their overall mission to offer a range of wheels that are the best match for local conditions.
