BF Goodrich Tyres
In 1870, businessman Benjamin Goodrich used his recent acquisition of a rubber factory to begin manufacturing hoses, industrial parts and, later, bicycle tyres. The brand which would become BF Goodrich was indeed one of the very first rubber factories operating in the western United States. Its future direction was set in 1896 when, well before cars were common, it began making automotive tyres.

Over the decades since, BF Goodrich has increasingly specialised in making tyres for people who enjoyed their driving. Its engineers not only develop tyres but also spend their weekends on the track – either rugged and challenging dirt or smooth, fast tarmac. The company has enjoyed a lot of competition success over the years too, not least its 13 wins in the arduous Paris-Dakar rally.

Overwhelmingly, today it is in all-terrain tyres – a concept the company invented in 1976 – where BF Goodrich is most well-known. Perhaps that is why so many people are proud to put BF Goodrichs, with their classic white sidewall lettering, on their automotive pride and joy.
