Are your tyres ready for driving on wet winter roads?

11/4/2018

Driving on wet winter roads can cause your car to slip and slide, make sure you have your tyres treads checked for our up-coming winter roads.

Tyre tests prove that your tyres will skid on wet roads once they have worn the tread down past half way. When you are driving take extra care if you are unsure how much tread is on your tyres.

Tyre tests also prove that a new tyre will stop in a lot shorter distance compared to a half-worn tyre, this could be the difference between having an accident or not.

The minimum tread allowed by law is 1.6mm, once your tyres have worn down this far you could be liable for a work order placed on your vehicle or in the worst case you may have your insurance claim denied.

For your peace of mind feel free to call in to one of our three Richards Tyrepower stores in Perth and have your tyres checked by experts or browse our range of modern wet weather tyres.
