The Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989 is being updated for the first time since 2000.
A lot has changed since then and these changes will bring the Act up to date and address the fact that cars today are different compared to 20 years ago.

Driving on wet winter roads can cause your car to slip and slide, make sure you have your tyres treads checked for our up-coming winter roads. Tyre tests prove that your tyres will skid on wet roads once they have worn the tread down past half way. When you are driving take extra care if you are unsure how much tread is on your tyres. Tyre tests also prove that a new tyre will stop in a lot shorter distance compared to a half-worn tyre, this could be the difference between having an accident or not.

COOPER tyres have the strongest sidewalls

Most 4WD tyres are made with two or three layers made of either Nylon, Rayon or Polyester cords to give them strength. These layers of fabric cords radiate out from the centre of the tyre, hence the name "radial ply tyres". COOPER tyres in their STT and ST MAXX range have extra strong sidewalls with the third layer on an angle to make them the toughest tyres.
